1991 Was a Momentous Year

Monsignor Joseph F. Colligan, who received Papal Honors in 1985, became the Pastor Emeritus.  Monsignor Colligan's vision, dedication and hard work helped the parish grow and flourish.  It truly was a parish whose people worshiped together, worked together, served one another and grew in love of the Lord, Jesus Christ.

Father T. Peter Ryan, the Pastor of St. Boniface Church in Elmont, New York, was named to become the third pastor of Our Lady Queen of Martyrs on June 26th, 1991.

At his Mass of Installation, Father Ryan said these words:

"This is a special day in my own life as well as in the life of Our Lady Queen of Martyrs parish.  Let us humbly ask God for his blessings that together we may continue to grow in the service of God and our sisters and brothers, especially those most in need of our love and support"

And grow we did!  Monsignor Ryan, who received Papal Honors in 1991, deeply committed his life to the life of the parishioners of OLQM, helping them grow in the love of the Lord Jesus.  In the years since becoming Pastor, over 56 ministries and activities server the people of the parish as well as the community at large.
