After eleven months of
further investigation, the group's unanimous consensus, affirmed by the Diocesan Building
Office, was to build a new Church instead of restoring the old boat garage. It would be a
difficult burden. Nevertheless, thanks to the hard work and generosity of hundreds of
parishioners, OLQM's new Home for the People of God was erected within two years, and
dedicated on September 23, 1984.
Today, Our Lady Queen
of Martyrs Church remains an inspiring statement of faith for present and future
generations.
