We use money, pay bills, and make contributions in different ways today than in the past. ATM machines, automatic debits for bill payments, and the use of credit cards for purchases over the Internet give us all a variety of options that once were not available.  These new approaches are convenient, safe, and a great help to the many of us who choose to take advantage of them and to those organizations or companies with whom we do business.  It’s a different world today in which people appreciate many different options.  In keeping with the times, I’m writing to invite you to participate in a brand new program Our Lady Queen of Martyrs is offering (through Faith Direct) to make it much easier to fulfill your very generous stewardship commitments to our parish and the wider church.

Through this program, you can make all of your contributions to Our Lady Queen of Martyrs via automatic payment from your checking account or credit card – just as many of you may do now with your mortgage payment, cable bill, and other regular expenses.  This new program offers us a secure way for you to send, and our parish to receive, your regular contributions – even when vacation or business takes you out of town, or an illness prevents you from attending mass.

Should you elect to participate in this program, you will no longer receive weekly envelopes.  You will be provided with a personalized "offertory card" that you can choose to place in the collection basket as a visible sign of your support.  You will also be provided with an itemized statement of your gifts at the end of the year for tax purposes.

I hope you realize how important your financial support of Our Lady Queen of Martyrs is, and will continue to be, and how we rely on and appreciate your generosity.  Our parish Finance Committee and I have complete confidence in the Faith Direct program.  As technological advances continue to shape the world in which we live, we feel that automated contributions will be the vehicle by which an increasing number of Catholic people fulfill their stewardship support for their parish.
