 Dear Parishioners,

It is with deep gratitude and great joy that I accept this assignment to serve here at Our Lady Queen of Martyrs Parish. I am truly excited to become part of such a vibrant and faith-filled community.

Centerport is such a beautiful and picturesque area, and over the years I have spent many hours praying here in this Church, both at Mass and in Adoration. Each time I have come here to pray, I have experienced a profound sense of peace and serenity. I believe that spirit is a reflection of the people who worship here, and I very much look forward to getting to know all of you in the weeks and months ahead.

A little about my background: after entering seminary in 2015, I spent my first two summers at St. Barnabas Parish in Bellmore. It was there that I first met Father Adrian. Under his guidance and mentorship, those years became an important part of my priestly formation and greatly strengthened my discernment toward the priesthood. I am therefore especially grateful to be reunited with him once again here in Centerport as I begin this new assignment as Associate Pastor.

Since my ordination in 2021, I have been blessed to serve at Saint Patrick’s Parish in Smithtown and Huntington, as well as Holy Name of Mary Parish in Valley Stream. Coming now to Centerport feels very much like the next chapter in my priestly and ministerial journey, and I am eager to build new friendships and connections within this wonderful parish family.

I especially look forward to celebrating the sacraments with you, supporting the parish’s devotional life, and becoming more involved with the many parish ministries and organizations, including the St. Vincent de Paul Society and Corey’s Promise and Seniors Visiting Seniors. Our Lady Queen of Martyrs is clearly a parish that is deeply rooted in faith, dedicated to service, and warmly welcoming to all, and I am excited to walk this next chapter of ministry together with you.

Please be assured of my prayers for each of you and your families. In return, I humbly ask for your prayers as well. I eagerly look forward to meeting you at Mass and at the many parish events and gatherings in the months ahead.

May God continue to bless you and your loved ones with His abundant grace, peace, and love.

With every blessing in Christ,

Fr. Michael Lombardi
